It was still raining quite densely when i alighted. I decided to complete the book there, at the bus stop. I know now, to pick the lower bench. I sat there for nearly an hour as the rain poured on before finally packing up & walking back home in the rain.
I found out that Bowen does have a number of Chinese national students, also a girl from that school was using the exact same bag as i was.
Attention. Deficit. Disorder. is a book about a young male whom recently attended his ex-girlfriend's funeral who killed herself. He realizes from her friends, sworn by the girl herself to secrecy, not to reveal that the girl was pregnant with the protagonist's child & aborted.
Stunned by such revelation, the main character takes a strange trip around several places, gaining & learning something each time. Slowly he manages to piece his direction in life.
It's much about directions in life. However interestingly, the author includes dictionary style explanation of some terms throughout the book. Also, some chapters are dedicated solely to non-fictional characters or event that have had an impact on the protagonist's life.
Very different, i should say.
Also viewed, was Day of the Dead. The 2008 remake. The plot is interesting, although the 180-degree mentality switch of Trevor especially doesn't seem realistic. Still, zombies that retain part of their old personality or traits seem interesting.
We have Bud, a zombie that doesn't bite. Either because the wound causing the infection was doused in bleach, or he was a vegetarian or perhaps he liked one of the survivors.
I'm sun-burnt.
