FYP began today. A rather empty start, for the lecturer was on leave. Assigned to MIG department. Sounds pretty cool, Mikoyan Gurevich, the Russian military aircraft maker.

Cheryl was in that group as well. Turns out we're project mates. Also in S.435 we had Eugene, Allan & Sufian for company. That's all whom i know.

The computers were as described, but i was surprised the rumours weren't exaggerated. Cheryl managed a virus scan which came up with a long list of viruses & trojans. So thumb drives were at risk.

Later while trying to send a large file out, email was out of the question. Only provides 10MB max size. Yousendit was blocked, as was mega upload. Some smart ass decided those sites were risky. So without an option, i plugged my mp3/thumb drive in.

Nothing much actually, a virus scan at home showed no less than 5 viruses, all data other than the ones i just pasted in where rendered hidden. Nothing tough to solve.

Oh yes, while trying to view my hidden files i stumbled upon this.

I was in folder options, trying to switch to "view hidden folders". What wonderful options, it's in Indonesian Malay if you're wondering. Just when i've gotten used to the achi virus.

Besides the mean programs, there were tons of crap i had no admin rights to delete. From movies, to games, to Yahoo! & Google bars, to BitComet & songs. Gigabytes worth of well, worthless stuff to me.

All that, & i have no admin rights to install Firefox or a more competent anti-virus program. Hell, we don't even have our EICT domain. So we're using a general account where anyone can access files under your user profile.

Transferring of project documents are gonna be a pain in the ass.

Anyway, we went for a jog & some gym after FYP. Had Subway for dinner. Ah well, got to know Merv & Cheryl more.
